HSBC UK’s Ian Tandy awarded MBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List 2020


HSBC UK's Head of Trade, Ian Tandy, has received an MBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list for services to the financial services sector during COVID-19.

Ian has a long and distinguished career in financial services. He joined HSBC from RBS in 2008 as the Head of Trade and Supply Chain UK, prior to becoming Regional Director of Business Banking in South & East and then Co-Head of Corporate Banking for the London Region.

In his current role Ian is Managing Director of Global Trade and Receivables Finance UK and Chairman of HSBC Invoice Finance Ltd. Based in Birmingham, he works closely with HSBC teams across the globe to provide expertise and financial solutions to businesses of all sizes in the UK.

Ian said: “I am truly humbled to receive this honour which would not have been possible without the incredible team I have worked with through the pandemic.

“This year has presented challenges like no other and I am proud that our team has pulled together to help so many businesses get hold of the financial lifelines they needed.”

Ian grew up in the West Midlands and now lives in Leicestershire.
